Episode 3.16 - Crisis

Clark (Tom Welling) receives a panicked call from Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and hears a gunshot before the line goes dead, but when he arrives at the Talon he is stunned to discover she is alive and well. Clark realizes the phone call came from the next day and that Adam (guest star Ian Somerhalder) is the one who will shoot Lana. Upon taking Clark to the Luthorcorp lab where Adam was being kept, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) finds all of the staff murdered and suspects his father (John Glover) is behind it.

“Je Crois Entendre Encore” by Bizet/Caillet — Played during the final scene, Lionel’s scene, when he contemplates the bad news he’s received. He pulls out a handgun and ****s it, ready to pull the trigger as the scene fades.

Lana: Clark! Please help me!

Clark: Lana? Lana, wha– Lana? Lana!

Lana’s voice: [on the recording.] Clark, it’s happening!

Lana: Why would I say that?

Clark: It’s almost like you were expecting something.

Chloe: Clark, how did you hear that?

Clark: I guess I missed too many Linkin Park concerts.

Lex: An experimental medication. Not exactly FDA approved,
but I assume you’re working on the patent.

Lex: [to Lionel] How can you be so cavalier?

Jonathan: Here, Chloe, I want you to take my truck. The last
thing we need tonight is you getting stuck crossing the creek in
that little car of yours.

Chloe: Please, be careful, Mr. Kent, please!

Adam: You took that bullet.

Clark: That’s impossible.

Lex: As flattered as I am to be the object of so much
attention, you and I both know I’m only the consolation prize.

Lana: Clark, there’s still something I don’t understand. How
did you get from the hotline to the storage unit in a split second?

Clark: It took me more than a few seconds… Maybe it had
something to do with the weird time anomaly.

Clark: You know, there’s something that I don’t understand
either. Why did you call the hotline instead of the police?

Lana: [without turning around.] Because, um, I knew you’d be
there… Looks like we cheated fate.
